Police have arrested two men and seized more than $2.8 million worth of marijuana at a pair of grow-ops in Markham.
After getting a tip last spring, officers from the drug and vice unit began investigating a home on Pepperell Crescent, near Warden and Steeles avenues.
On Thursday, more than a year later, they raided that house and another on the street and seized more than 2,800 plants.
They arrested two men, 33-year-old Zhi Yong Liao and Wei Li Fang, 23, and charged them with production of a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Fang will appear in a Newmarket court on May 20. Liao is scheduled for June 2.
