Four arrested during protest outside City Hall

TORONTO, Ont. – Four people were arrested after protesters attempted to enter the front doors of City Hall during the committee debate.
Police told 680News things were “getting violent.”
About two dozen police officers restrained about 50 demonstrators as they tried to get past the police blockade at the front doors of City Hall and into the building.
Shortly after 6:30 p.m., as the group chanted “Let us in,” a fight broke out just outside the front entrance as protesters attempted to get past the police blockade.
At least two men were brought into city hall, by police, in handcuffs.
It is unclear whether the protesters involved are members of the union or Occupy Toronto. On the Occupy Toronto website, the group encouraged supporters to bring their tents and and protest throughout the three days of budget meetings.
Police estimate several hundred people were demonstrating at Nathan Phillips Square.
The group stood outside for about two hours before they dissipated after it was announced that city council had passed the 2012 budget.
