An inquest has been ordered to probe the deaths of two men at the Don Jail in Toronto.
Dr. Dan Cass, Deputy Chief Coroner for Investigations, announced on Tuesday that an inquest will be held into the deaths of Robert Gray and Phillip Hamilton.
Gray, 28, died on October 14, 2009, while Hamilton, 37, died on May 10, 2010. Both were inmates at the Don Jail.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding the deaths and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar fatalities.
Details regarding the date and location will be announced when the information becomes available, the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services said in a release.
The Don Jail is located located near Gerrard Street East and Broadview Avenue and is a short-term facility for prisoners awaiting trial.
