Southern Ontario and the GTA hunkered down for a major storm on Monday night as the East Coast grappled with the remnants of Hurricane Sandy.
Rain estimates were scaled back but Environment Canada warned of “potentially hazardous” winds of 60 km/h gusting up to 100 km/h — the brunt of which arrived between 11 p.m. Monday and 3 a..m on Tuesday.
