Celebrities react to Obama’s election win on Twitter

Barack Obama took to Twitter moments after he was re-elected as president of the United States, writing “Four more years.”

The U.S. president’s message became the most retweeted post in Twitter history, breaking the previous record set by Justin Bieber. As of Wednesday morning, it had been retweeted by nearly 600,000 Twitter users.

Messages on the social networking site peaked at 327,452 Tweets per minute as news organizations began calling the election results, according to Twitter’s official blog.

Celebrities were quick to respond, with actor Alec Baldwin taking a dig at Donald Trump and Saturday Night Live alum Victoria Jackson tweeting, “I can’t stop crying. America died.”

Stacey Dash, of Clueless fame, endorsed Republican candidate Mitt Romney with a Baywatch-style photo. After his loss, she tweeted, “Governor Romney and Congressman Ryan. You fought the Good Fight and I am proud!”
