2 dead after head-on crash in Pickering

Two drivers were killed in a head-on crash in Pickering early Saturday morning.
It appears a 25-year-old Ajax man was driving a Mazda westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 when the crash happened near Brock Road.
Both he and the driver of the other car, a 33-year-old man from Oshawa, died at the scene.
The Canadian Press reports a third driver in a Chevrolet Cruze got caught-up in the crash, but wasn’t seriously hurt.
The OPP says it got several calls about a car going the wrong way, and not long before the crash near Brock, it had clipped a Volkswagen near Harwood Avenue South.
A stretch of the highway was closed for about four hours for the investigation.
