School bus, car collide in Caledon

Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that caused a collision between another car and a school bus in Caledon.

Provincial police say it appears a vehile was traveling westbound on Mayfield Road when it rear-ended a Chevy Cavalier, causing the Cavalier to veer into oncoming traffic where it struck a school bus filled with children.

Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The OPP tells CityNews there has been no report of injuries among the school children.

There has been no word on the condition of the driver of the Cavalier.

Police say the driver of the vehicle that struck the Cavalier fled the scene after the collision.

Mayfield Road was closed in both directions between Airport Road and Torbram Road while police investigated. The roadway was reopened around 6 p.m.
