Emergency crews responded to a call around 11 o’clock for a fire at Bramalea Secondary School Sunday.
Brampton fire crews extinguished the fire shortly after 12:30 p.m.
“There was a lot of smoke coming from the school, from the roof area, there is a possibility it is mentioned in the call, that there may have been some workers working on the roof at the school,” Peel Police Const. Lily Fitzpatrick told 680News.
“There was a church service that was being conducted on the west side of the school on Balmoral Drive and that has been evacuated.”
“We can’t confirm the cause of the blaze and we have no report of any injuries,” said Fitzpatrick.
Peel Region School Board says that Bramalea Secondary School will be open for classes tomorrow as damage caused by the fire was minor.
