Much of southern Ontario is under a special weather statement from Environment Canada, warning of blowing snow and reduced visibility.
The snow is due to an Alberta clipper that is moving into the province. With the passage of a cold front associated with this weather system, winds will increase and snow squalls are expected to develop in the northwest flow off of Lake Huron and possibly Georgian Bay.
The snow squalls were no surprise to some CityNews fans, who sent in these photos of their massive snow banks on Monday.
