All of Toronto is really getting behind the Toronto Blue Jays after their 22-year playoff drought ended, and now IKEA is joining in on the celebration.
IKEA is giving out spoons. Yes … wooden spoons.
The spoon will allow you to stir your imaginary pot.
More than 12,000 spoons will be given out, said Elisa Wegenast spokesperson for IKEA in a press release.
“Every time the Blue Jays get on base during a game, things get cooking, and that’s when the players ‘Stir It Up,'” Wegenast said.
It even comes with the #StirItUp hashtag in case you forget.
The spoons will be distributed at 12:30 p.m. until game time (or until they run out) all around the Rogers Centre.
And tonight you can use it for dinner, too. Hello, multi-purpose.
But you can’t bring your spoon inside the Rogers Centre.
A spokesperson for the Rogers Centre said that the spoons are not allowed inside “due to a concern that they will be thrown.”
When asked what they were going to do with all the spoons already confiscated, they said they will “donate” them.
You can also grab your spoon outside and stir to your heart’s content out there.
