In Photos: Gaggle of geese turn Acton-area lawn into theatre

By Audra Brown

Take a gander at this! Thirty-two geese playing golf.

It’s just another day for this gaggle on Georgina Beerman’s Acton area front lawn.

Since 1992 Beerman’s geese have been acting out any scenario she can think of.

“It started when the Blue Jays were in the World Series” she told CityNews. “I said to the husband, ‘I bet we can make them play baseball.’ ”

Every summer since then her geese have done dozens of crazy things on her Highway 7 property, like enjoying fall fairs, holding a wedding, and whooping it up on carnival rides.

“I do back to school and holidays too. Remembrance Day, Halloween.”

She says it’s become a real community favourite.

She reserves an entire drawer in her dining room for a whole flock of thank you cards and newspaper clippings that people leave in her mailbox.

“It’s really nice, really nice that people leave them”

Her gaggle are currently playing a soccer match as a salute to the Olympic Games.
