Halton police are investigating after a parent found a liquor bottle containing a ‘suspicious fluid’ in their child’s Halloween candy bag.
A12-year-old girl went trick-or-treating on Monday night. Police say when she got home, her mother found a mini rum bottle containing a clear liquid in the bag. The seal on the bottle had been broken and was slightly leaking.
She called police, but officers could not say for sure if the liquid was alcohol. The bottle and liquid have been sent for analysis.
Police believe the bottle was placed in the child’s bag by a resident in the Childs and Ledwith drives area, near Main Street East and Ontario Street South.
Police are asking parents whose children were trick-or-treating in that area to inspect their child’s trick-or-treat bag.
