1 dead after Whitby apartment fire

One person has died after a three-alarm fire in Whitby on Tuesday evening.
It happened at an apartment building on Ash Street, near Dundas and Brock.
Crews had the fire under control by around 8:30 p.m.
The victim was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The Ontario fire marshal has been called in to investigate.
