Mississauga teen, 18, killed in Georgetown single vehicle crash

An 18-year-old Mississauga man is dead following a fatal crash in Georgetown.

Halton Regional Police say a Toyota sports coupe was travelling eastbound on Maple Avenue when it lost control as it approached Main Street South. The car struck several light standards and traffic control poles before crashing into a tree.

Police say there were three occupants in the car. The driver and front seat passenger suffered minor injuries. The passenger in the back seat suffered critical injuries. He died en route to hospital.

Police say they do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

No arrests or charges are pending at this time.
