2 men charged after stabbing on TTC streetcar

Police have charged two Toronto men in connection with a stabbing on a TTC streetcar last weekend.
It’s alleged the men boarded a streetcar near Spadina Avenue and King Street West around 3:40 a.m. Saturday, and got into a fight with a 24-year-old man.
During the fight, the 24-year-old was stabbed. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
On Tuesday, the men turned themselves in to police.
Gumercindo Diaz, 22, has been charged with attempted murder and assault and appeared in an Old City Hall court Tuesday.
Emanuel Ortez-Escobar, 23, was charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous. He’s due in court on Wednesday.
