A crash involving a tractor-trailer caused a full closure of the QEW in the Hamilton area for about four hours on Thursday morning.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said a tractor-trailer went into a ditch and took out a number of power lines in the area.
No one was seriously injured in the crash.
Police said a car and a tractor-trailer collided just after 5 a.m., causing the truck to go into a ditch — shearing off the bottom of a hydro pole.
Schmidt said witnesses reported a car driving aggressively in the area at the time of the crash.
Charges are now pending against the driver of the car.
Schmidt said power lines are down on the service road and hanging low across the QEW.
Power went out for over 700 customers in Stoney Creek from South Service Road to Highway 8.
Hydro crews are on scene.
The QEW was closed in both directions between Fruitland Road and Centennial Street. It reopened just before 9:30 a.m.
