CFL, LFA sign letter of intent to grow football in Canada and Mexico
EDMONTON — The CFL and Liga du Futbol Americano Professional are officially partners.
CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie and LFA officials Oscar Perez and Alejandro Jaimes signed a letter of intent that could pave the way for a CFL game to be played in Mexico City as early as next year.
The LFA is an eight-team Mexican semi-pro spring football circuit.

The letter of intent is not a binding contract but paves the way for the two leagues to jointly plan such events as a CFL scouting combine in Mexico this winter, increase co-operation and share resources.
Ambrosie, Perez and Jaimes officially signed the letter following Ambrosie’s annual state of the union address.
