Subway service on a large portion of Line 1 and Line 2 was suspended for about an hour on Saturday evening because of a security incident, according to the TTC.
The incident began around 6 p.m. Saturday evening. As a result, the TTC suspended service from Eglinton to St. George stations on Line 1 and from St. George to Chester on Line 2.
Regular service resumed around 6:50 p.m.
Toronto police said the incident involved a suspicious package. No further details of the incident were available.
A planned weekend subway closure from St. George to King stations remains in place as crews upgrade signal systems. Shuttle buses will operate on Saturday and Sunday.
