Man, 33, arrested in Mount Dennis double homicide

A 33-year-old Toronto man is under arrest in connection with a double homicide in the Mount Dennis neighbourhood last month.

Police said in the early morning hours of June 29, three men were socializing outside a building at 55 Emmett Avenue when another man approached them and opened fire.

When police arrived they found two men, including one confined to a wheelchair, suffering from gunshot wounds. One was pronounced dead at the scene while the second man was transported to hospital but later pronounced dead as well. The victims were identified as 25-year-old Christopher Teape of Toronto and 32-year-old Ahmed Mohamud, also of Toronto.

A third man was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

On Saturday, police executed a search warrant at a Toronto residence, seizing a firearm and ammunition while taking one man into custody.

Denzil Kemoy Williams is facing two counts of first degree murder and one count of attempted murder.
