3 people injured in helicopter crash north of Toronto

Three people were transported to the hospital after a helicopter crashed in a rural area north of Toronto Saturday.

The Gravenhurst Fire Department tweeted at around 6:15 p.m. Saturday they had been dispatched to an area near Cooper’s Falls, Ont. for a downed aircraft.

The OPP said a military search and rescue helicopter transported three people to a Toronto hospital.  One person had serious injuries, the other two had minor injuries.

Transport Canada has been notified of the incident, the OPP said.

Cooper’s Falls is about 162 kilometers northeast of Toronto.
