Charlie the dog has been returned safe and sound.

Toronto police tweeted that a Good Samaritan turned in the dog to police Friday evening.

Charlie’s odyssey from a subway platform to the safe arms of a Toronto police officer began more than a month ago.

Police allege Charlie was stolen from his owner who fell ill on the subway on Oct. 27.

The 45-year-old woman suffered a medical episode at Kipling station and lost consciousness. When she came to, her dog was gone.

On Friday, police released images from the subway showing a woman walking away with Charlie.

She’s described as five-foot-two to five-foot-five tall, 100 pounds with a slim build and long light-brown hair in a ponytail.

The suspect was wearing black aviator sunglasses, a purple jacket, blue jeans, with black and white running shoes.

She was also carrying two black backpacks and a black bag covered in white stars.

Police continue to investigate the incident and ask anyone with information to contact them or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
