Canada Goose plans shift to reclaimed fur over wild coyote product

TORONTO — Canada Goose Holdings Inc. says it will start using reclaimed fur to make its luxury coats and stop purchasing new fur in a couple of years.
The Toronto-based company says customers should expect to see reclaimed fur in some of its products as soon as fall 2022.
The retailer says it has used wild coyote fur from Western Canada and the U.S. for the past five decades.
It plans to launch a consumer buy-back program for fur in the coming months.
The company made its announcement in its first sustainability report.
In the report it outlines a strategy that includes working toward carbon neutrality and eliminating single use plastics in its owned or controlled facilities.
