SIU investigating after 2 injured in motorcycle crash with Toronto police SUV

Two people have been injured in a collision involving a motorcycle and a Toronto police vehicle in Scarborough.

The crash happened on Kingston Road at Harewood Avenue, west of McCowan Road, on Wednesday afternoon.

A male and female on the motorcycle were injured. Police say the woman’s injuries appear more serious.

Const. Dave Hopkinson says the motorcycle was not being pursued by police but a collision may have occurred when the police SUV made a left onto Harewood.

The province’s Special Investigations Unit has taken over the investigation.
