The HDSB is confirming September 14th as the start of the school year after a virtual town hall meeting last night.
Direction of Education Stuart Miller says the education plan is still fluid, and can change at any time.
“The ministry announced a change in some of the health and safety protocols, we now have to take a look at that to see how that fits in with what we were doing based on the old protocols, and the federal government announced additional funding. We don’t know how that rolls out, how much it is, what that means, but we’ll have to look at that in the next few days”
The Halton board also announced masks will be mandatory from grades 1 to 12 and that 16,000 students have already registered to learn online this year.
