A man is dead following a shooting in Richmond Hill.

York Regional Police say they were called to a residence on Leisure Lane in the area of Bathurst Street and Major Mackenzie Drive West around 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Police discovered a victim outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The victim’s identity is not being released until a post-mortem has been conducted.

“There’s at least two residences in question here,” said Sgt. Andy Pattenden. “It does appear that something transpired between those two residences. I can tell you that the victim, an adult male, was found outside one of those two residences suffering from gunshot wounds.”

Investigators said they are looking for a black, 2004-2008 Acura TL four-door sedan that was seen in the area at the time of the incident. The vehicle appeared to be dusty-looking and had tires that looked like they needed air.

“The license plate that was on the vehicle was stolen and did not belong with the suspect vehicle,” police said.
