Woman dies after being struck by vehicle in Richmond Hill

A 58-year-old woman from Vaughan has died after being struck by a vehicle in Richmond Hill.
York Regional Police reported they were called to the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Major Mackenzie Drive around 10:30 p.m.
The female pedestrian was found suffering from life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital where she later died.
Police tell 680 NEWS it appears she was trying to cut across the road when she was struck.
The driver involved, a 57-year-old woman from Richmond Hill, remained on the scene.
There were road closures in the area while police investigated, but they have since reopened.
