A 64-year-old man has been arrested and Peel police say he will be charged with second-degree murder after a woman was found dead in Brampton Wednesday night.

A passerby called 911 around 9 p.m. after finding the woman on a pathway in a ravine area near Templehill Road and Highway 410.

The witness told police they were walking on the path last night and saw a man and woman arguing. When the person came back along the path a few minutes later they found the woman on the ground and then phoned police.

Officers found a woman with “signs of trauma,” in life-threatening condition. She was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter.

The victim has since been identified as Dalbir Randhawa, 64, from Brampton.

Her husband, Jarnail Randhawa, was later arrested.

“This was a tragic loss of life which will carry rippling impacts for family, friends, and our community. Our sincere condolences to all those affected by this tragedy and the loss of Dalbir Randhawa,” Deputy Chief Nick Milinovich said in a statement.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have information, dashcam or video footage, to contact the Homicide and Missing Person Bureau.
