1 dead in shooting near Black Creek and Trethewey

A man is dead after a shooting overnight in the city’s northwest end.

Emergency crews were called to the scene near Clearview Heights and Black Creek Trail, in the Black Creek Drive and Trethewey Drive area around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

“A man attended a party at the rear of 79, 81, and 83 Clearview Heights,” police said in a news release Monday. “He walked from the back of the building to the street when he was shot.”

Police said the victim, Brendon Kirk Daley, 32, of Toronto, died at the scene.

No suspect information has been released.

This is Toronto’s 28th homicide of 2021, police said.
