2nd person charged in 2020 Brampton homicide investigation, Peel police say

A second man has been charged in connection to a 2020 homicide investigation, Peel police said Thursday.
On Aug. 13, 2020, emergency crews discovered Sangita Sharma, 56, with a fatal gunshot wound at a residence on Treeline Boulevard in Brampton.
Fiseha Girmay Habtegabir, 19, of London, Ont., was charged with First-Degree Murder earlier this June in connection to the investigation, police said.
On Wednesday, police said a second suspect was located in Fort McMurray, Alta., with the assistance of Wood Buffalo RCMP.
Twenty-three-year-old London, Ont., resident Malik Essue has been charged with First-Degree Murder, police said.
“Malik Essue will be brought back to Peel Region in answer to the charge,” police said in a news release Thursday.
Police said the investigation continues, and are asking anyone with information to contact them directly or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
