Toronto police are warning the public about a suspicious drug that is responsible for at least two deaths this weekend.
Police say they were called about a potential overdose in the area of Yonge Street and Lawton Boulevard on Sunday.
A 53-year-old man and a 33-year-old man consumed a quantity of narcotics at a house party in the area, according to police. Both men then overdosed and later died due to the “potent effects” of the drugs.
“Investigators are concerned there may be more of this suspicious drug sold or given to others,” they said in a brief statement.
Police say the drugs in question have been sent for testing.
