Toronto’s police chief says officers have received reports of anti-Semitic graffiti that was found outside three schools on Wednesday.
Officers were called to Central Technical High School, Malvern Collegiate Institute and Rosedale Heights School of the Arts between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.
In a tweet posted by Chief James Ramer Wednesday afternoon, he said the hate crime unit was called in to assist with the investigation.
“Hate crimes are a top priority for the @TorontoPolice and we are committed to combatting hate in our city,” he wrote.
A spokesperson for the service said all three incidents involved anti-Semitic language.
Toronto District School Board spokesperson Ryan Bird confirms the vandalism occurred overnight.
“We are working with Toronto Police to provide any assistance that we can as they continue to investigate these incidents which are harmful and completely unacceptable on or off school property.”

News of the discoveries came amid a recent wave of anti-Semitic incidents at schools in Toronto.

Earlier in February reports of two anti-Semitic incidents surfaced. One of those incidents reportedly involved students displaying swastikas while the second involved a Heil Hitler salute.
