Three men charged for breaking into places of worship across Brampton, Mississauga

By Lucas Casaletto

Three men face over 70 charges following a series of break-ins at various places of worship from multiple faiths in Brampton and Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police say the string of incidents happened between November 2021 and March 2022.

It’s alleged the three men gained access into buildings and proceeded to steal money from donation boxes. They then fled the area.

On Friday, officers arrested three men, including 39-year-old Jagdish Pandher, 31-year-old Gursharnjeet Dhindsa, and 42-year-old Parminder Gil — all of Brampton.

The three men face up to 78 charges, including 13 counts of break, entering and committing an indictable offence. They were slated to appear in court on Friday.

Peel Regional Police say a fourth suspect is being sought, urging the individual to turn themselves in.

The crimes are presently not being investigated as hate-motivated, but police add that “possible motives will continue to be considered as this investigation progresses.”

The investigation is ongoing.
