Male suspect sought in downtown fatal shooting

Toronto police are searching for a male suspect in the city’s latest homicide.
Police say shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday night a man approached another man in the area of Dundas Street East and George Street and shot him multiple times.
The victim was taken to a trauma centre in critical condition where he was later pronounced dead.
Police have identified him as 36-year-old Elijah Eleazar Mahepath of Toronto.
Investigators are searching for a suspect last seen walking westbound on Dundas Street East. He’s described as Black, between 35-40 years of age with short hair. He was last seen wearing a light-coloured long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and a light blue surgical mask.
