Toronto police officers say they’re looking to speak with a cyclist who struck and injured an 86-year-old female pedestrian in the city’s downtown.
According to a statement issued by the service, emergency crews were called to the corner of Bay Street and Queens Quay West just after 5:30 p.m. on May 14.
Officers said the woman was on the west side of Bay Street trying to get to the northwest corner from the southwest corner of the intersection when an eastbound cyclist hit her.
The statement said the cyclist stopped and helped her briefly before leaving and before speaking with police officers.
Investigators said the woman was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries.
On Wednesday, investigators released a surveillance image of the cyclist in an effort to identify him. It’s not clear what, if any, charges he might face.
The male cyclist was last seen wearing a dark-coloured, sleeveless top, dark-coloured shorts, white running shoes and sunglasses.
Anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone who might have security or dash-cam video was asked to call traffic services officers at 416-808-1900.
