Man arrested, facing 11 charges after armed carjacking in Etobicoke

A man is under arrest and faces 11 charges in connection with an armed carjacking in Etobicoke earlier this month.

On July 12, Toronto police responded to a robbery call in the area of Scarlett Road and Dixon Road.

Police say a 39-year-old man was sitting in a parked car with his friend when a stranger got into the back seat. The stranger pointed a handgun at the man and demanded the vehicle.

The suspect then fled the scene in the stolen car before officers arrived.

Investigators were able to identify the suspect and executed a search warrant at a residence last Thursday. During the search, police recovered a loaded handgun and ammunition.

Eysayah Davis, a 24-year-old from Toronto, has been arrested and faces 11 charges including robbery with a firearm.

Davis appeared in a Toronto courtroom on Friday.
