Man tried to carjack vehicle with baby inside: police

Toronto police say a man is in custody after he tried to carjack a vehicle with a baby inside it on Friday night.

It happened around 9:17 p.m. in the Coxwell Avenue and Hanson Street area.

Police say a man armed with a knife tried to take the car with a baby inside, but was thwarted by a passerby who came to the aid of the driver.

Police arrived and took the suspect into custody, recovering a knife.
