Suspect arrested in Mimico double shooting that left 19-year-old dead

Toronto police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal double-shooting in Mimico last month.

Police were called to Mimico Waterfront Park, in the area of Mimico Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard West, around 8:30 p.m. on Sep. 15. .

When they arrived they found two victims suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Despite life saving measures being performed on scene, one man was pronounced dead. The other victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition.

The deceased was previously identified as Tenzin Rinchen, 19, of Toronto.

Police arrested 20-year-old Nelson Okoth, of Toronto, on Sep. 19. He is facing several charges including second-degree murder and attempted murder.

Police have not said what the relationship is, if any, between the two victims and the suspect.
