If you still have plants outside, it’s time to cover them up or bring them indoors.
A frost advisory from Environment Canada remains in effect for Toronto and parts of the GTA on Friday morning with temperatures near or just below the freezing mark.
The advisory was first issued on Thursday.
The national weather agency said patchy frost is possible again overnight Friday and into early Saturday morning.
“Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas. Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees,” the agency advises.
“Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.”
Things are expected to heat up a bit later in the day on Friday with a high of 11 C in the forecast.
Saturday will be sunny with a high around 13 C.
