Boy, 14, charged with attempted murder after stabbing teen in Toronto

A 14-year-old boy is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, after stabbing and critically injuring a teenager in Toronto.

On Jan. 9 around noon, police were called to the Ossington Avenue and Harbord Street area near Little Italy for reports of a stabbing in an alleyway.

Police said a 17-year-old male got into an altercation with a group of youths. He was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition.

On Jan. 20, police identified and arrested the youth that stabbed the 17-year-old.

A 14-year-old boy was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon, among other offences. He will appear in a Toronto court on Thursday at 10 a.m.

In an unrelated violent incident involving young men, Toronto police arrested and charged four 13-year-old boys with assault after two uniformed TTC employees were swarmed and injured aboard a bus in Scarborough on Monday.

Two 13-year-old boys were charged with one count of assault, and two other 13-year-old boys faced two counts of assault. The four youths will appear in a Toronto court on Mar. 21.
