Man with sawed-off rifle arrested after fight at North York TTC station

Toronto police arrested a man following a fight at a TTC station in North York and discovered a bag with a sawed-off rifle and knife.

Officers were flagged down by TTC operators on Thursday just after 2:30 p.m. at Pioneer Village Subway Station after a fight broke out between two men.

Police tracked the men down on the bus platform, where one was carrying the sawed-off rifle, ammunition and a knife at the time of the arrest.

No injuries were reported.

Hayden Offman, 20, of Richmond Hill, is facing several charges, including possession of a weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, causing a disturbance, careless storage of a firearm and the possession of a firearm, knowing the serial number has been tampered with.

Offman appeared in court on Friday.
