Toronto police say a man was injured at the CNE after he was reportedly thrown from a midway ride while it was in operation.
Emergency crews were called to the CNE grounds at Nunavut Road and Princes’ Boulevard at around 9:23 p.m.
The man was taken to hospital by paramedics. Police tell CityNews he suffered a concussion after being tossed from the ride.
It’s not yet clear exactly how the man was injured, but there are unconfirmed reports that it happened on the Polar Express ride.
The Polar Express ride at the CNE is shut down pending an investigation after a man was apparently tossed from the ride around 9:30 last night. I’m told he has concussion+other wounds after hitting ground hard. All the other rides/attractions remain open. pic.twitter.com/BAtbHFoXx4

Video and photos from the scene show police in front of the ride, which appears to be shut down and cordoned off with police tape.
Police say the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) has been notified and is investigating. In an update Tuesday morning, the TSSA says an inspector is on scene investigating the ride and they cannot comment on much else until the investigation is over.
