High-risk offender arrested after failing to return from daytime outing

York Regional Police say a high-risk offender who was “unlawfully at large” after breaching a court order has been found.

Police put out a call for the public’s assistance on Sunday after Neal Bowie, considered a high-risk violent offender, failed to return to his group following a daytime outing.

At the time they said he was last seen around 1:30 p.m. in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive West and Jane Street in Vaughan.

Around 10:45 p.m., police said Bowie had been found and taken into custody without incident.
