Woman sought after allegedly threatening bank staff with Taser

Police are searching for a woman who allegedly threatened bank staff with a Taser in North York last month.

Police say the woman entered a bank in the area of Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue West just before 3 p.m. on Sept. 12 and handed a note to one of the staff. She then began to cause a disturbance within the bank, police add, ultimately retrieving and activating a Taser.

Police say prior to leaving the bank she made a threat towards the staff.

No one was injured, according to police.

The woman is described as being between 20 to 30 years of age, five feet tall with a medium build and dark curly hair in a ponytail. She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, long black shorts, white and black Nike shoes, a white Toronto Blue Jays hat and was carrying a backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
