1 arrested for firing gun off inside Riverdale residence

Toronto police say one person was arrested for discharging a firearm inside a Riverdale residence on Thursday morning.

Officers were called to the Jones Avenue and Boultbee Avenue area just before 10 a.m. on Thursday for reports of a shooting.

Police initially believed a man was shot inside of a residence. A suspect was later taken into custody.

Authorities, along with Toronto paramedics, tell CityNews a shooting victim was not located.

Police spokesperson Shannon Eames said the suspect was arrested for discharging a firearm inside a residence. No one was injured.

Blake Street Junior Public School was placed in hold and secure due to the proximity of the firearm discharge, but that has since been lifted.
