Tow truck driver seriously injured in Scarborough shooting

A tow truck driver was seriously injured after being shot in Scarborough.

Toronto police were called to Markham Road and Sheppard Avenue just after 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday for reports of a shooting.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital via an emergency run. In an update on Thursday, police said his injuries are not life-threatening.

There’s no word on any suspects at this point.

Sheppard was closed in both directions at Shorting Road but has since reopened.
