Man electrocuted when pole he was carrying touched wires

A man suffered life-threatening injuries after being electrocuted in a downtown industrial accident.

Toronto police say a man was carrying a pole on a job site when it came into contact with wires in the area of Yonge Street and Olive Avenue around 3 p.m.

Toronto paramedics transported a man in his 40s to a trauma centre with injuries described as serious and possibly life-threatening.

The Ministry of Labour has been called in to investigate.
