Man dies in house fire in west end

TORONTO, Ont. – One person is dead, another in hospital with serious burns, after a rooming house fire in north Etobicoke.
The fire appears to have started in a room at the rear of a house at 73 Humber College Boulevard, which is now wrapped in yellow police tape.

One neighbour told 680News she heard screams for help at around 11 p.m. Sunday.
“I was awakened because I heard a woman screaming and I looked out of my window and I saw this house on fire, all the roof was on fire, and in a few minutes, the flames were everywhere,” she said.
Fire crews rushed inside, but could not save a man trapped in the fire. He was pronounced dead.
Another person was rushed to hospital with serious burns.
