VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – We just can’t get enough of our Androids, iPhones and Blackberries. A new survey finds more Canadians than ever just can’t put down their smartphones.
More than three in ten now own a smartphone, which is a 50 per cent increase since the spring of 2010. A new report from Ipsos Inter@ctive Reid finds we are spending a heck of a lot of time on our devices, too.
The average Canadian spends more than 17 hours a week on their smartphone. That number is even higher among the 18-34 set.
We’re still talking on our phones, but for the first time ever, the majority of smartphone usage is for activities other than talking. A lot of our time is spent tweeting, reading emails, and snapping pictures.
