Commuter hassles after truck fire on Toronto-bound QEW

A truck fire on Toronto-bound Queen Elizabeth Way caused a commuter slowdown Monday morning.

Just before 6:30 a.m., a tractor-trailer caught fire east of Cawthra Road.

Ontario Provincial Police told 680News the truck was carrying some kind of metal product, but there were no air quality concerns.

The highway was shut down because of all the smoke reducing visibility.

All lanes have since reopened, but crews were still on the ramp lane.

No injuries were reported.
