TORONTO – Thousands lined the streets to watch 26 floats, most of them new, move through the downtown core, Sunday afternoon.
Alyssa,13, who has been attending the parade since she was about 1-years-old told 680News why she enjoys the annual tradition.
“Just seeing all the floats go and watching everyone on them. It’s really exciting,” said Alyssa.
People in the neighbourhood came out of stores fronts to watch the 107th edition of the Santa Claus Parade, while others were perched carefully on area roofs.
This year’s parade was extra special for Manny because his daughter made her debut on one of the floats. Manny told 680News, his daughter was really looking forward to it.
“She was up early, she was excited. She’s a polar bear on a coca-cola float. We are very excited as well too.”
“My whole family is here, we usually come down to watch the parade. She had the opportunity to get in, so we took it,” said Manny.
The sun peeked out a little, throughout the day, but overall, it was very chilly. However, during the parade, for the little ones though, weather was not a concern.
The excitement and anticipation created a bit of heat with most kids.
